Volunteering with Balter
Balter is wild, mad, silly fun and we really couldn’t pull it off without our amazing volunteers! Crew love is true love and we’d love you to join the team, if you’ve got what it takes to make 2019 the best year yet, get involved!
“The experiences I had volunteering at Balter were unique and challenging, and gave me a confidence I took back to every day life. I really discovered a passion for festival work, and have been inspired to make this my future life plan. Can’t wait to be a part of this year’s festival.” – Jessika, Steward Supervisor 2018
Calling all super supervisors, lovely leaders and downright dirty dicta..oh no not those guys. We have created more supervisor roles this year and want you to join the team! If you’re serious about getting an inside view into how festivals are run on the ground, are physically fit, able to take initiative, responsible, and generally like other humans then this role is for you.
You will work 2×8 hour shifts over the weekend, receive 2 x meal and drinks tokens per shift and be a really integral part of the success of the festival.
“Not only did I get a free ticket for the whole weekend, but the festival provided food and drinks in exchange for working, and some of the friends I made have provided me with amazing opportunities to work at more festivals in the future! You can never know who you’re going to meet, but at Balter you know they’ll be fun, friendly, and unique!” – Liam, Steward Supervisor 2018
Stewards are the eyes and ears of the festival; whether you’re welcoming people at the front gate or keeping the crowd hydrated at the main stage, we need you! Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends and be a part of the crew while still enjoying the party.
At Balter you only have to work 2x6hr shifts over the weekend (easy right?!) You will get 1 x meal and drink tokens per shift and you can even choose a friend to work with. Get involved!
Event Litter Pickers:
Litter picking is short and sweet, as a litter picker you will work 3×4 hour shifts with a meal and drinks token for each shift. That’s a meal and a nice cold pint each day of the festival. Shifts are Saturday -Monday 8am – 12pm so make sure you can stay on Monday if you apply.
Post-Event Litter Pickers:
Those who have been to Balter will know, we are on a pretty unique site. The chepstow racecourse needs to be spic and span after a filthy weekend of fun. As a post-event litter picker you will have the whole weekend to party in true Balter style and then stick around with the crew after helping us make sure we leave no litter.
You will work Monday 12-6pm and Tuesday 10am-4pm and we’ll feed you two meals per shift.
